'Ted's View, Peak District, England', 2006.
For a while, whilst living in the UK, I had access to a car and used it to make trips around England during weekends and school holidays. After a trip to see family in Liverpool I took a detour on the way back to London to travel through the Peak District. I was only there for a day but this view overlooked rolling hills, ferns, bramble and had a bench bearing a plaque 'Ted's View', testament to some sorely missed, local character.

'Moesgard Beach, Denmark', 2005.
In 2005 I took a ten day trip to Denmark and Sweden. Moesgard Beach is just south of Arhus and a short trip on the bus from the town centre. The beach was deserted at the time and a nice place to draw and collect your thoughts.

This is the last of the three pieces I did in the school holidays. I stayed in Cusco for about ten days, mainly going out for day trips to explore the surrounding area. Cusco was the Inca capital and is the place where most people set out to walk the Inca trail to Macchu Picchu.

' Galapagos locals'.

Like with the African images, here is a few portraits of the island's residents. After being in Africa weeks earlier where a big zoom lens was essential, it was a nice change to observe the locals at close quarter.

'Baltra Harbour, Galapagos Islands', 2009.
Finished this yesterday. Baltra has a small harbour full of boats and a small dock where sea lions take up the benches and moan at you if you try to move them over. The landscape of the islands is secondary to the tame wildlife, fantastic diving and snorkelling.

'Bartolome, Galapagos Islands', 2009.
Just finished this piece. The picture is dark and doesn't do the colour justice but the orangey-brown and the deep blues especially, are much richer in the flesh. This is the much photographed view of Bartolome and illustrates how wierd a place is to have beautiful golden beaches next to lava fields.

'Gemstone Bay, Coromandel', 2001.
I found this image of an example of my older work. The Coromandel has lots of lovely little hidden beaches like this and I've spent many trips up there exploring and drawing. This piece featured in my solo show at Idiom studio in 2002.

'Montagne Sainte Victoire, France', 2008.
Whilst in the south of France for a christening I was asked what I wanted to do with a spare afternoon and I jumped at the chance to see Cezanne's mountain for myself. We had walked up the south face for a bit but on the way back we pulled over and I hastily sketched this view on a 'Post-it' note I found in the car. This photo is a little dark but you get an idea of the colour.

'Dusk, Gallipoli, Turkey', 2007 and 'From Chunuk Bair, Turkey', 2008.

Two pictures from a week long trip to Turkey in 2006. I wanted to have a quick look around the Gallipoli peninsular but without the crowds of Anzac Day. It was around Xmas so it was very cold and snowing of an evening but beautiful during the day.
