For my last year of art school and the following year my work was based around a small beach and stream north of Whanganui, I was often letting the colours bleed into each other with interesting effects.

Leading up to the school holidays I often do a series of watercolours if I'm unsure of the colour in a painting. Sometimes they are quick sketches like this, often they become finished pieces themselves. I did have another Vietnam piece to do, but have decided to move onto Cambodia for the coming school holidays next week when hope to complete at least three oils.

This is a cigar box guitar I've been making over the last week or so. It is the first time I've done something like this but although its not perfect, any others I make should benefit from this experience. Just add strings!

When I went to Vietnam over the summer I bought a beautiful little painting from a shop in Hanoi. There was a larger piece there that I couldn't bring back but luckily a friend was visiting Hanoi earlier this month and bought it for me. Big thanks to Lisi, and the team at Artworks for re-constructing the frame.
